Bleacher Bums was written collaboratively by members of Chicago's Organic Theater Company, based on an idea by actor Joe Mantegna.
Bleacher Bums is about a group of die hard fans in the bleachers of Chicago's Wrigley Field. They include a rabid cheerleader, a blind man who follows the game by transistor radio and does his own play by play, a bathing beauty, a nerd and various other bleacher denizens. As the game proceeds, they bet among themselves on every conceivable event, go out for frosty malts or beers, try to pick up the bathing beauty and, occasionally, watch the game. The Cubs inevitably blow it in the ninth. The bleacher bums remain undaunted they will be back tomorrow to root for the home team.

Playmasters bring on the laughs with "Jake's Women"
By: Morgaine Ford-Workmam
Opening this Friday, The Playmasters at Neshaminy State Park in Bensalem bring "Jake's Women" to the stage. This Neil Simon favorite is brought to Bucks County through the creativity of director Ron Green and assistant director Catherine Tomasi.
The play focuses on Jake (portrayed by David Campbell), a novelist who is more successful with fiction that with life. He faces a marital crisis by daydreaming about the women in his life. The wildly comic and sometimes moving flashbacks played in his mind are interrupted by visitations from actual females

Anyone who’s driven down State Road passed Neshaminy State Park cannot miss the sign. It stands at the side of the road bearing just two words “The Playmasters.” Residents who turn down the road and follow the sign to its end are in for a treat.

Here's a review from our 1999 season production of "The Odd Couple"
John Fischer's Philadelphia
Vol. 1 - Number 48 - 09/27/99
Don't let anyone tell you that Theatre is dead in America, and least of all, here in the Philadelphia area.
Saturday night my wife and I went to see a production of The Odd Couple (Female Version) produced by The Playmasters at their theater in Neshaminy State Park just off the Street Road exit of I-95.
For $ 7, yes, I repeat, $ 7, we were thoroughly entertained for two hours with fourth row center seats. The company producing the play is a mixture of highly experienced amateur and semi-pro actors, as well as those with somewhat less experience. This production, however, showed more enthusiasm and fun than you often see on the professional stage.
